I thought this was incredibly well done, the art and style are brilliant but I also dislike the controls! I would suggest A and D for left and right and either mouse buttons or J and K for switch and interact :)
Love the art style and the concept! I think the puzzle design and player control can use some work. It was a little awkward switching between worlds while moving right as well. And the puzzle design kinda felt like busy work rather than trying to solve a puzzle. The story in the game def hit though haha. Great work overall!
Thanks for your feedback! We like to hear you enjoyed it! We'll probably redo and add some levels after the jam is over. Can you be a bit more specific about the player control? Then we can maybe further improve it
Yes, of course! Putting the swap key right next to the move key is difficult for controlling. Also w being the key for interacting feels odd. I'd keep jump on w and do interact and swap with the right hand on the keyboard, maybe like j and k or something. Also, the character feels too floaty and unwieldy for me. I'd lower the movement speed a bit tad, especially since the player needs to swap between the two worlds, so they should have more time to hang in the air to get that timing right. I did notice the coyote time and the ledge step up btw, which is amazing. Lmk if you have any more questions!
It's nice to have some fresh eyes on this, cuz us two have been playtesting it over and over again, so we got used to the controls. I think its a good idea to move the interact and swap key to the right. Maybe even the left and right mouse button. It is indeed more logical to put the jump key above the move keys. CHanging the player's speed would be a bit more difficult, cuz there are some levels that require a specific jump that is juust possible with the current speed. But it wont be that big of an issue to tweak that. Anyway, thanks for your feedback!
Nice game, great pixel art, I loved the idea, I did a similar one. The only problem, the music gets a little bit repetitive, but because it's nice and the game short it isn't such a problem
